今讀《聖經 · 出埃及記》
起初，埃及法老不讓摩西及其以色列人離開埃及。上帝降十難向埃及。法老連受九難之後，依然不讓摩西及其族人離開。
第十難是讓埃及所有的人及動物的 firstborn都死去，在此難之下，法老的長子死了。法老對摩西說：
Rise, go out from among my people, both you and the children of Israel. And go, serve the LORD as you have said. Also take your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone; and bless me also.
在上帝的助力下，摩西終於率領以色列人走出埃及，前往上帝所許的流着奶和蜜的迦南之地。摩西對族人說：
Remember this day in which you went out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out of this place. No leavened bread shall be eaten. On this day you are going out, in the month Abib. And it shall be, when the LORD brings you into the land of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, which He swore to your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey....
一路讀來，驚心動魄。
